Course requirements
- Applicant must be 20 years of age.
In addition, fulfill at least one of the following requirements:
- minimum 600 hours of rope work, spread over a minimum of 3 years.
- minimum 5 years' experience as an instructor on rock climbing courses
- in accordance with Norwegian Mountain Sports Forum's standard
- approved summit guide in UIAGM
- membership and practice in an alpine mountain rescue group connected to NARG

Course requirements
- Applicants must have a valid SL certificate on the day of the exam.
- The applicant must have logged at least 300 hours as a security manager in the current certificate period. This does not apply if the applicant has been admitted as a security manager during the current certificate period.
- Applicants must have attended at least one security manager seminar during the period.
