Efficiency through FieldBuddy
Beerenberg has introduced a digital fieldwork solution called FieldBuddy, which shifts the workplace from the office to the field. This application provides foremen and engineers with easy access to all necessary data directly where they need it. Actively used across all of Beerenberg’s operational areas, FieldBuddy enhances precision and quality in work processes while making daily tasks more efficient.
The application, which offers both online and offline functionality, enables users to register and re-check scaffolding, read and prepare work packages, document tasks, and report progress on assignments.
Technology in the Field
The team on the Yme platform in the North Sea has completed over 85% of their documentation activities using FieldBuddy so far this year.
Tommy Eriksson, an ambassador and superuser of FieldBuddy, expressed his enthusiasm for the technology: "FieldBuddy strengthens Beerenberg’s competitive edge by employing modern technology in fieldwork. We ensure high-quality work by registering data directly in the field, which saves time and simplifies tasks."
Value for Customers
FieldBuddy also improves the quality of registrations by including inputs such as photos and deviation logs. Customers benefit from having deviations identified during quality inspections registered, documented, and signed immediately, saving time for both parties.
Work leader Eriksson noted: "Using FieldBuddy allows me to handle deviations directly on-site and obtain customer signatures without needing to log into a PC."
Continuous Improvements
To ensure optimal user-friendliness, a project team led by Espen Sætre is continuously working on improving the application."Our goal is to simplify daily tasks so that our foremen can spend more time in the field ensuring high-quality work," said Sætre.
Beerenberg maintains a strong feedback culture that contributes to concrete suggestions for improvement, ensuring that FieldBuddy evolves to meet current and future user needs.
