Everyday work offers great variety, which Daniil is very happy with.
- In this job, no assignment is the same and I get to combine theory and practice in that I am largely involved in the entire process from plan to actual execution. When I've worked on something for a long time, it's always fun to see the final result, says Monakh.
Fully electric robotic pretreatment at Statfjord-B
At the beginning of June, Daniil was involved in an assignment where Beerenberg carried out internal pretreatment of a drinking water tank on Statfjord B. Using an electric ultra high pressure pump (UHT) together with a MagTrack 4000 robot meant that the entire assignment of removing paint was carried out electronically .
It was also the first time that this type of robot was used inside a tank, and the entire design thus provided health and time-saving benefits, in addition to taking care of the environment.
-By using a smaller and lighter robot, it gave us the opportunity to more easily maneuver between braces in the tank at the same time as it could be manually moved over to the next wall. In this drinking water tank, where the paint is extra thick, it would have been very problematic to use traditional blowing. Here, robotic treatment has saved personnel from time-consuming physical work in unfavorable working positions. In addition, this type of treatment is beneficial for performing personnel because it provides a reduced noise level and is completely free of hot exhaust, he says.
