Client: FPSO operator

Project type: Passive Fire Protection

Location: Yard in Asia

Scope / Value: 46 valves

The Challenge

Survey many items in short time. With boots on the ground at the yard the project went smoothly, and there were no challenges. There was a small delay in the scanning process because some items were not installed.

The Solution

Combining the Beerenberg surveyor with the design team in Poland and production in our Thailand factory is a good combination. Road freight from our factory to the yard made sure all items were delivered to site in time.

The Benefits

Berenberg's presence offshore during the hook-up in South America was beneficial. A catch-up and identification of all challenges was made, and solutions were presented to the client as quickly as possible.

Conclusion

Providing effective communication and instruction to all parties at the outset is one of the most important aspects of making sure the project is completed successfully. With the combination of the Design Team and Beerenberg supervisor/surveyor for the 3D scanning process, the risk for misfits and unnecessary site modifications is minimized.
